Dear Friends,
Most of you will need no reminding that the 15th May 2012 is an important and poignant milestone for Solace.
One year ago we lost our co-founder, Orlando Rogers, in a tragic accident. This colossal loss to us all reflects the terrific energy with which he lived his short life. We all knew him in different capacities; a boss, colleague, partner or brother in arms - but we all counted him as a dear friend.
In many respects the year since Orlando's death has raced by, in others it seems that we have achieved far more than twelve months would normally allow. Orlando and I built Solace together and it's continued success is the best tribute that I feel we can pay to him. Many of you were at sea when the news broke last year, I thanked you at the time and I thank you again today for what we have achieved together.
Solace has remained at the forefront of a fast moving world and this is testament to what we have all accomplished, both in the UK and at sea, but the fact that we have Solace at all is testament to the drive and vision that Orlando gave us in those early days.
We can only imagine where we would be today if he was still with us.
We must not forget what Orlando did for us and we must not waste what he worked so hard to build. Wherever you find yourselves on the 15th of May, whether it be on the high-seas or at home with your families, please join us in remembering our great friend Orlando.
In remembrance,
David Peach
